The main equipment required for video production are video camcorder, editing computers, editing softwares, disk recorders, external hard disks, monitors, microphones and video tape recorders. Unlike the old traditioned videography, “now a days” digital video production has become easier and effective because of the modern equipments.
The most important thing required for the production of any video is a camcorder. A camcorder is a portable video camera which records both pictures and sound. Camcorder is the combination of a video camera and a video recorder. Digital Video Camcorder is the starting point for any digital video production. It is widely used in the field of electronic media like production of TV shows, news channels etc and even in family ocassions like wedding ceremony, birthday party and family functions. There are various type of camcorders available in the market as per our need. For example use of handycam enables us to capture the beautiful moments of our life. So we can capture our special moments or make our home video of our own, very easily using a handycam.
Latest and upgraded Video editing computers must be used to produce high definition quality videos or films. There are several editing softwares which can make this editing work more efficient. These softwares are required to add the special effects and additional elements, which enhances the quality of our video footage. These video footages produced, require certain storage areas and the storage is done by using external hard disks. These hard drives can store large amount of our edited work. A microphone is a device that is used to make sound louder or to record them on a tape recorder. There are many types of microphones available, which can be used as per the requirement. Like a blimps is used to record sound in case o f outdoor shooting while a dynamic microphone is used on stages. Good quality microphones are needed to give us a high standard and good sound quality. A good quality microphone can cost you very much but its benefit while recording , really worth it.
So these basic video equipment are the inevitable part of the modern day video production.
