Janis Digital Media: Alice in Chains Interview and Video Production

video synopsis by: Gabriel A.

93.3 MMRBQ featured 6 great bands for 2010 and they are: Fuel, Dive, Stone Temple Pilots, Three Days Grace, Skillet, and Alice in Chains. On the backstage, Pierre Robert gets to interview the band Alice in Chains. This is not the original Alice in Chains band members but Jerry Cantrell (lead vocals) has helped with the music of Alice in Chains in general since day one. Great video production!

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1987 by songwriter and guitarist, Jerry Cantrell and original lead singer, Layne Staley. In 1993, Mike Starr was replaced by Mike Inez as bassist. Although widely associated as a grunge band (because of their distinct vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell), the band’s sound incorporates acoustic and heavy metal elements. Alice in Chains had released 4 studio albums, two live albums, three EPs, two DVDs and four compilations to date.

They rose to international fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s, along with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. The band was one of the most successful music acts of the 1990s wherein 1992, the band released their critically acclaimed album “Dirt”, and has been certified quadruple platinum. Since they started, the band had received two #1 Billboard 200 albums (Jar of Flies and Alice in Chains), 14 top ten songs on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and eight Grammy Award nominations.

Alice in Chains Interview with 93.3 WMMR’s Pierre Robert

On this interview held at the backstage of the MMRBQ 2010 event before they performed, Pierre Robert asked how did they get Elton John to play the piano on the track, Elton John being a legend in the music industry during the days of The Beatles and when he had gone solo, the band’s answer was quite simple: they simply asked Elton John; and he was excited to be part of it. The band had grown their gratitude and respect for Elton John since then for being humble and unlike the other old musicians, he was up-to-date with what is happening at the music industry. The band had a concert in Macedonia with Deftones, September 25, 2010.

The video production is kindly brought to you by Janis Digital Media of Philadelphia PA>
